Shipshape Trading boils those foundations down into files and AI skills, so you don't have to read 900 pages of manuals to start. It's for people who have never built an agentic trading bot, and for people who tried and had one break.

Run your bot in your own paper account. The starter bot in the free manual is locked to paper: simulated only, it sends no orders anywhere.
Export the records and see which rules held and which broke, and where to look first. Fix a rule, then test on paper again. A score measures rule-following, not profit.
The free starter manual has you check 3 rules by hand. The DIY files' core rulebook has 6. The Balanced preset has 15 checks, and the report counts only those that apply (14 for the starter bot).
A referee for your own rules
Builder kits help you make a bot. Shipshape Trading is a score from a tool that's separate from the bot it checks: it reads your bot's actual records and checks them against the rules you wrote, including the fees in them. It works alongside the builder you already use.
With your rules in writing, a report like this shows which ones your records follow and which they don't.
